Shooting a veteran might sound challenging but is in fact its interesting. A veteran actor or director who has been in the industry for more than 2 decades knows exactly what needs to be done and has a premonition of how the output should be. Doesn’t is sound like a hard task to get them to pose for the vision you have set for the output?
As a young photographer who is shooting a veteran it is important to show them how you are trying to portray them. This makes it easy for them to understand what you are looking for. Take charge of the shot, tell them what needs to be done and you will see that they will comfortably respond and give you what you need for your shot.
End of the day it is in the hands of the photographer to show their model in the best possible frame and that is what will show your true skill. Challenges push us to get better at what we do and having to shoot someone who has in the industry for a long time is a huge bonus as well as a huge responsibility.
